Sept. 13, 2017: Virgin Group Founder and long-time British Virgin Islands resident, Richard Branson, whose Necker Island was devastated following Irma offered a glimpse Tuesday at some of the damage across the BVI.

Four people have been killed by Hurricane Irma in the British Virgin Islands, officials have said.

Hurricane Irma roared through the 40 small islands of the British Virgin Islands late on Wednesday, causing major damage to the largest and most populated island of Tortola.

Invest Caribbean Now has launched the Caribbean Hurricane Relief Fund to help fund the immediate needs of those affected by the category 5 storm that will be disbursed through Samaritan’s Purse, a North Carolina-based global non-profit organization, which has already responded to the needs of St. Martiners by taking two plane loads of emergency goods to benefit over 4,000.
